Treatex UV Oil is a next-generation, clear UV finish. It shields timber from the sun’s bleaching rays. It soaks deep into timber. In a similar way to bark, it grips onto the wood’s tiny channels. As a result, it protects against tough weather.

This oil can be used alone on bare timber. Or use it as a topcoat over Classic Colour Collection, Exterior Oils, or External Oak Colours. As a result, it’s a genuinely useful way to add UV protection, whatever stage your project is at.

How to Apply UV Oil

1. First, check the timber is suitable. High-tannin timbers, like air-dried oak, may leach tannin early on.
2. Then, stir the tin well, both before and during use.
3. Apply with a brush or roller, following the wood grain.
4. Let it dry fully between coats.
5. Finally, apply a second coat for the best protection.

Coverage

A 1L tin covers about 25m² in one coat. A 2.5L tin covers about 50m² in one coat. Rough sawn timber may use more.

Colour

Clear finish. Use alone or as a protective topcoat.
