1. Our Promise

At Stringers, we want every tin of paint, roll of wallpaper, and decorating accessory to bring a smile to your home. If something doesn’t delight you, we’ll help put it right—quickly, fairly, and with as little fuss as possible.

2. What Can Be Returned

  • 30-Day Window: You have 30 days from delivery or collection to return an item.
  • 48-Hour Notification: Please let us know within 48 hours of receiving or collecting your order if you plan to return it or if there’s a problem.
  • Condition: Items should be unused, in their original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase (your order confirmation is perfect).
  • Exemptions: Certain items are created or sourced especially for you and cannot be returned unless faulty or damaged. This includes:
    • Custom colour mixes
    • Specially ordered products (including bespoke colour requests)
  • Other Non-Returnables: Gift cards and clearance items are also final sale unless defective.

3. Faulty or Damaged? We’ll Fix It Fast

If something arrives damaged or develops a fault, email or call us within 48 hours of receiving or collecting it (or as soon as you spot the issue). We’ll arrange a replacement, repair, or a full refund—including shipping—without any runaround.

4. Easy Return Steps

  1. Get in Touch: Email support@stringersdiy.com or call 01778 422420 with your order number and a quick note about the issue.
  2. We’ll Guide You: We’ll send you a returns authorisation and, if needed, a prepaid label with clear instructions.
  3. Pack It Up: Use the original packaging if you can, so it arrives back safe and sound.

5. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your item, we’ll pop the refund back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Original shipping costs are refunded when the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect.

6. Exchanges

Need a different shade or size? The quickest way is usually to return the item for a refund and place a new order.

Please note: Custom colour mixes and specially ordered products (including special colour requests) cannot be exchanged, unless they are faulty or damaged.

7. Your Rights

This policy doesn’t affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other UK consumer law. We simply like to make things as friendly and straightforward as possible.
