Zinsser Cover Stain is a solvent-based, stain-blocking primer. It’s quick drying too. Cover Stain is touch dry in just 30 minutes and ready to recoat in 2 hours. As a result, it cuts project time. But it doesn’t cut quality.

This primer seals water, smoke, mould, and nicotine stains. It also blocks cedar and redwood bleed. Better still, Cover Stain sticks to lots of surfaces, indoors and out. No sanding needed. It resists cracking too. As a result, you get a finish that lasts.

How to Apply Cover Stain

1. First, check the surface. Make sure it’s clean, dry, and free of dust or grease.
2. We advise using Zinsser Cleaner & Degreaser first.
3. Then, stir well before use.
4. Apply with a brush, roller, pad, or sprayer.
5. Let it touch dry for about 30 minutes. It may look slightly yellow at first. Don’t worry, it dries white.
6. After that, recoat within 2 hours if needed.
7. Finally, leave it to cure. Full cure takes 4 to 7 days.
