Zinsser Gardz is a water-based sealer for tricky surfaces. It soaks deep into porous walls. It dries to a tough, damp-proof film. As a result, it seals and firms up surfaces that would cause trouble later.

Gardz genuinely fixes problem surfaces. It dries rock-hard and damp-proof. This protects walls during your next decorating job. It’s great for damaged drywall, new drywall, filler, plaster, old paint marks, and more.

How to Apply Gardz

1. First, check the surface is clean, dry, and sound. Remove loose or peeling paint by sanding or scraping first.
2. We advise using Zinsser Cleaner & Degreaser first.
3. Stir well before use.
4. Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer. One coat is usually enough.
5. Let it touch dry for about 30 minutes.
6. Recoat after 3 hours if needed. Full cure takes 3 days.

Coverage

Covers 5 to 10m² per litre. Touch dry in 30 minutes. Recoat after 3 hours. Fully cured after 3 days.

Colour

Dries water clear. Tinting isn’t advised.

Safety & Restrictions

• For indoor use only.
• Not for use over paint — use Zinsser Peel Stop for peeling paint instead.
• Let new plaster cure 24 hours first.
• Keep the area well ventilated.
