Hippo SEALit Superior Sanitary Silicone is an acetoxy cure silicone sealant built for bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and wet areas. It has superior mould resistance to keep bathroom sealant looking clean for longer — one of the most common complaints with standard silicones in wet areas.

It’s mid modulus with 20% flexibility, so it can cope with the natural movement of sanitary ware without cracking or pulling away. Available in Bright White and Translucent — use Bright White for a clean, finished look against white sanitaryware, or Translucent where you want the sealant to disappear into the background.

How to Apply Hippo SEALit Superior Sanitary Silicone

1. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from old sealant, soap residue and grease
2. Cut the nozzle to the required bead size and fit to the cartridge
3. Apply in one smooth, continuous bead
4. Smooth off with a wet finger or sealant tool immediately
5. Leave to cure fully before exposing to water — acetoxy silicone gives off a vinegar smell during curing, which is normal and disappears once cured
6. Do not apply over existing silicone or in very damp or cold conditions

Safety & Restrictions

• Acetoxy cure — produces acetic acid (vinegar smell) during curing. Use in a well-ventilated area
• Not suitable for use on natural stone, marble or calcareous materials — acetoxy silicone can stain these surfaces. Use a neutral cure silicone instead
• Not suitable for continuous water immersion
• Keep away from children
• Uncured silicone can irritate skin and eyes — wear gloves
