The refill for outside jobs, where sleeves wear out fastest. 18mm of pile is the whole point — rough brick and render are full of dips, and a shallow sleeve rides over them so the wall dries with pinholes of bare masonry showing. This one gets down into the texture. Fits any 9" x 1.5" cage frame, and works with smooth or textured masonry paint.

The Fit For The Job Masonry Roller Sleeve is the refill for exterior work. Masonry chews through sleeves faster than anything else, so there is no point buying a whole new set each time when only the roller is worn out.
The pile is 18mm deep, and that depth is what does the work on a rough wall. Brick, render, and pebbledash are full of dips, and a shallow pile skates across the high points leaving the low ones bare. A long pile pushes down into the texture instead.
Rolling a rough wall is not the same as rolling plaster. You need to work the paint in from different angles so it reaches the sides of every dip, not just the tops. Skip that and the wall looks fine wet, then dries with pinholes of bare masonry showing through. Going over each section twice from crossing directions sorts it.
Wash it out thoroughly while the paint is still wet, working right down into the pile until the water runs clear. A deep pile holds far more paint than a standard sleeve and masonry paint sets hard, so this takes real effort. Squeeze the water out, reshape, and stand it on end to dry.
Supplied as a single 9″ x 1.5″ long pile sleeve. Fit For The Job also do a complete masonry set with a frame and tray if you need the lot, and a medium pile sleeve for interior walls.
