Wrap any abrasive paper round it and the high friction cork holds it still — no clamps, no slipping, no folding the sheet round your knuckles. Flat sides keep the pressure even so you get a consistent finish rather than dips and scratches. The compressed cork also survives getting soaked, so it works for wet sanding gloss and filler. 11cm x 6cm.

The Fit For The Job Cork Sanding Block does one thing well: it holds abrasive paper still while you work. Sand with paper wrapped round your hand and it slips, folds, and wears through in one spot. A block keeps the paper flat and the pressure even.
Cork is the right material for it. The surface has enough friction to grip the paper without any clamps, and the compressed cork does not swell or fall apart when it gets wet, so you can use it for wet sanding as well as dry.
Most cheap blocks fall apart the moment they get damp. This one does not, because the cork is compressed to a high density. That means you can use it with wet and dry paper on gloss or filler, which is how you get a genuinely smooth finish on woodwork rather than a scratched one.
A square-edged block digs into the paper as you push, and the paper tears at the corners. The bevelled edges on this block spread that load, so a sheet lasts noticeably longer. Small detail, but it is the difference between one sheet and three.
Supplied as a single block measuring 11cm x 6cm, around 4″ x 2.5″. That suits a standard quarter sheet of abrasive paper folded round it.
Flat paper, even pressure, and it survives getting wet. The Fit For The Job Cork Sanding Block is a few pence well spent. Order yours today.
