How to Apply Treatex Cedar Oil

1. Remove any previous finish and lightly sand the surface. Make sure it’s free from dirt, decay, mould or dust
2. Check timber has a moisture content below 18% and do a trial application first
3. Stir thoroughly before and during use, mixing multiple tins together if using more than one
4. Apply with a brush or roller in the direction of the wood grain, working liberally into the end grain
5. Leave 12 hours before applying a second coat, then leave a further 12 hours to dry

Coverage

A 2.5L tin covers approximately 35m² with a single coat, depending on the timber and method of application. Two coats are recommended, so plan for roughly half that area with full coverage.

Colour

Treatex Cedar Oil is a natural, enhancing finish rather than a colour-matched product — it brings out the timber’s own grain and tone rather than adding a tint.
